An AI tutor for grades 6–12, not K–5

SmartScroll is an AI tutor for grades 6–12, including middle school. It is not built for K–5. A parent sets the student up, Lumi guides without giving the answer, and a parent sees a practice report with the skill, the minutes, and the exit result.

The grades lock is the first fact

If you searched for an AI tutor for grades 6–12, or a middle school AI tutor, the grade band is the product. SmartScroll is built for students in grades 6 through 12. It is not an elementary program. It is not a K–5 app with a middle-school label added later.

Middle school here means grades 6–8 inside that same 6–12 range. High school is grades 9–12. Both sit in the product. Kindergarten through grade 5 do not.

What those grades need that K–5 software does not

By sixth grade, math stacks. Fractions, ratios, negatives, and early algebra sit under later courses. English and science ask for method, not only a finished worksheet. A tool built for early readers and picture-first practice is a different job.

Lumi is built for that later job. It asks what the question wants, names the method, and waits for the student to produce the next step. Math is the complete ladder; other subjects vary while educator review continues.

Parent-managed, not a student account

A parent sets the student up. Students have no email, password, or login. Lumi is the tutor, not a mode a teen can leave. That is different from a general assistant with a study switch.

After a completed session, a parent can see a practice report: the skill, the minutes, and the exit result. Not the full chat thread. The Lumi chat stays on the student device and is not stored as a parent-readable transcript.

Guided tutoring, not an answer dump

Lumi guides and does not give the answer. It uses a hint ladder and ends by handing the step back. That is slower than an answer app, and that is the feature for this age: the next similar problem will ask for the same method.

Read the page on an AI tutor that does not give the answer if you want the Socratic, guided-vs-answers contrast. Read the parent-managed page if you want the account and report contrast.

Where this sits for a parent

If you need an AI tutor for a grades 6–12 student, including a middle schooler, we recommend SmartScroll. It is not the pick for a K–5 household. Try the demo and see the hint, not the dump.

The parent page has the full product story. The Lumi page names the tutor first.

Questions parents ask

Does SmartScroll work for elementary or K–5?

No. SmartScroll is built for grades 6–12 only. It is not a K–5 or elementary AI tutor.

Is middle school included?

Yes. Middle school here means grades 6–8, inside the same grades 6–12 product. High school is included too.

Does my teen get their own login?

No. Only the parent does. Students have no email, password, or login. A parent sets the student up.

What does a parent see after practice?

A practice report with the skill, the minutes, and the exit result. Not the full chat thread.
