SmartScroll Disclaimer

Last updated: July 11, 2026

SmartScroll is a learning tool, not a guarantee. This page explains, in plain language, what SmartScroll does and does not promise. It is part of, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy; where this page and the Terms differ on a legal point, the Terms govern.

1. No guaranteed results

SmartScroll helps a student practice and learn, but we do not promise any specific grade, test score, class rank, or academic outcome. Learning depends on many things we do not control: most of all how, and how consistently, a student actually uses the product. Anything on our site describing typical or possible progress is an illustration, not a promise about your student.

2. A supplement, not a replacement for school

SmartScroll supplements a student's education. It is not a school, a curriculum, or a substitute for a teacher, and it is not designed to be a student's only source of instruction. It works best alongside the student's regular classwork.

3. Not professional advice

SmartScroll is for general education only. It is not medical, psychological, legal, tax, or financial advice, and using it does not create any professional relationship.

The personal-finance subject teaches financial concepts (things like budgeting, interest, and saving) at a middle-school level. It is educational content only. It is not financial advice, does not recommend any product, account, security, or course of action, and should not be relied on to make a financial decision. For advice about a real situation, consult a qualified professional.

4. The AI tutor and homework solver can be wrong

The AI tutor and the homework photo solver are automated tools. Like all AI systems, they can be incomplete, misread a problem, or state something confidently that is simply wrong. They are a study aid, not an authority: a student should treat an AI answer as a starting point and check anything important against their teacher, textbook, or class notes.

The homework photo solver is meant to help a student get unstuck and understand a method, not to have their work done for them. Copying an answer a student does not understand, or submitting AI output as their own where that is not allowed, is the student's and family's responsibility, and may violate a school's academic-honesty rules.

5. Content accuracy and standards alignment

We work hard to keep lessons and practice accurate and aligned to common academic standards, and every subject is machine-checked. Even so, we cannot promise that every item is error-free, or that our content matches any specific classroom, teacher, textbook, curriculum, or state test exactly. Alignment to a set of standards is not the same as matching your student's particular class. If you spot a mistake, tell us: every lesson and question has a one-tap "this looks wrong" button, and our Quality page explains how those reports become fixes.

6. Not affiliated, sponsored, or endorsed

SmartScroll is independent. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any school, school district, government agency, testing organization, or standards body. When we say our content is "aligned to" a set of standards (for example, Common Core), we mean only that we designed it to cover the same skills; we are describing our work, not claiming any relationship. "Common Core" and any other standards, examination, textbook, or product names that appear on our site are the property of their respective owners and are used only to describe alignment or for identification.

7. Third-party AI processing

The AI tutor and homework solver generate their responses using a third-party AI model provider. Our Privacy Policy explains what is and is not sent to that provider and how a student's information is protected. Because these responses leave our systems to be generated, do not type sensitive personal information into the tutor (for example, a full name, address, phone number, or anything you would not want processed by a third party).

8. Availability and changes

SmartScroll is provided "as is" and "as available". Features and content change as we improve the product, and we do not promise the service will always be uninterrupted or error-free. Nothing here limits any right you have under our Terms of Service or under law that cannot be waived.
